Featherston Steps Up for the Third Consecutive Time

Senior Krystal Featherston was honored for the third consecutive week as the Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week. A Kokomo, Ind. native, she will be traveling back to her home state where she will compete in the NCAA regionals. While the Redbirds defeated Northern Iowa Nov. 13 at Horton Pool, Featherston qualified for the NCAA Regionals on the one-meter board by an eighth of a point (265.80). Not only did Featherston finish first on the one-meter board, she also took first place in the three-meter diving event qualifying for regionals again with a score of (288.61). Head diving coach Carly Weiden feels Featherston has earned the Diver of the Week award for the third consecutive time. Krystal has spent many hours on the board practicing, said Weiden. I am glad she won this award again, and also happy that she qualified for regionals. Featherston is excited about qualifying for regionals. It has been a great year so far, said Featherston. I am excited to compete at Purdue for my senior year. It will also be nice because I get to dive with one of my best friends that is on the diving team at Purdue. During the 2003-2004 season Featherston earned the Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Year. The Redbirds will travel to Akron, Ohio to compete in the Giant Eagle Zips Invitational at Ocasek Natatorium in Akron on Dec. 3. The meet will start at 11 a.m.
