Womens Golf Adds Two For 2006

Illinois State womens head golf coach Ray Kralis has announced the signing of two student-athletes for the 2006 season. Signees include Olivia Campos and Marci Hill. Both players are everything I am looking for as student-athletes, said Kralis. I look for both to have an immediate and long-term impact on our program and am very excited to have join us next year. Campos, a transfer from Mesa Community College (MCC) in Mesa, Ariz., will earn her Associates degree in the spring and will finish her remaining two years at ISU. Campos placed second at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), was named NJCAA First Team All-American and NJCAA 2005 Pre-season All-American First Team. She also was Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAA) Player of the Year. Hill, a senior at Edgewood High School in Madison, Wis., was a two-time runner up at the Wisconsin State Championship. She was a three-time runner up at the Wisconsin Sectional Championship and placed first and second at the last two Regional Championships. Also, Hill was First Team All-State two consecutive times, Second Team All-State as a sophomore and her high school team won four consecutive State titles. Kralis feels that these two ladies have excelled both academically and athletically and will add to ISUs program. My expectations of incoming players are high as we continue to climb in the national rankings, but I am confident these ladies will be tremendous additions to our program, said Kralis. They both have strong competitive backgrounds, experience and potential, and they will bring a great deal this team. ###
