The Missouri Valley Conference announced its swimming and diving All Conference and Honorable Mention All Conference teams Tuesday. Several Illinois State student-athletes were honored.
Julie Cocks, Krystal Featherston and Terra Whisman were named All-Conference First Team. Cocks won three events at the Valley Championship, including the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke. Featherston won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, while Whisman took third in both diving events to earn All Conference First Team honors.
Heather Norris, Katie Finan, Kate Johnson, Alison Kouba, Brittany Armstrong and Stefanie Starck earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors. Joining them were Monique Witkowski, Cocks, Simone Leger, Chelsea Sanders, Jamie Haseman, Emily Hirt, Emily LaVoie and Sara Groves.
Athletes are chosen for All-Conference and Honorable Mention awards based on their performance in the Valley Championship meet. First team honorees are those that finished first through third in each event, while Honorable Mention student-athletes finished fourth through eighth.
