With the upcoming start of the home softball and baseball seasons at Illinois State, softball coach
Melinda Fischer and baseball coach Jim Brownlee will host preseason fan luncheons in mid-March.
The softball luncheon is from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Eastland Suites, with WJBC Program Director R.C. McBride as master of ceremonies. The baseball luncheon will be from noon to 1 p.m. the following day, Thursday, March 18, at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center, with Radio Bloomington General Manager Red Pitcher as M.C.
The softball team plays at home that weekend against Missouri Valley Conference opponent Creighton, with a doubleheader at noon Saturday, March 20, and a single game at noon Sunday, March 21.
Central Michigan of the Mid-American Conference is the first home weekend opponent for the baseball team with single games at 3 p.m. Friday, March 19, and 1 p.m. both Saturday, March 20, and Sunday, March 21.
Tickets are $10 each for each luncheon. Fans can make reservations by email to pacattr@ilstu.edu or by calling Pat Cattron in The Redbird Club office at (309) 438-3803. Reservation deadline for both luncheons is Monday, March 15.
