In 2003, home attendance at Illinois State baseball games was up 93 percent from the previous year. As the attendance numbers continue to rise, fans should act fast and purchase their season tickets for the 26-game home schedule for the 2004 Illinois State baseball season.
Last year fans flocked to Redbird Field, as first-year coach Jim Brownlee and his team brought the excitement back to Redbird baseball. With a promising season on the horizon, crowds are expected to grow again, as nearly the entire team is returning. In addition, Illinois State has been picked as high as third in the Missouri Valley Conference in some preseason publications.
The 2004 home schedule features 26 home games, the first of which is March 19 at 3 p.m. against Central Michigan. Other highlights include a home game against instate foe Illinois (April 20) and four-game Valley series with nationally-ranked Wichita State (April 9-11), preseason No. 2 in the Valley Southern Illinois (April 30-May 1) and arch-rival Bradley (May 20-22).
Four different options are available for those wanting to purchase season tickets.
The individual season ticket package is available for $15.
The family season ticket package offers two adult tickets and two youth tickets to all 22 home games at a reduced price of $30 for the entire season.
The Grand Slam package is targeted toward businesses and features 500 tickets which can be used at any home game. In addition, the business will be recognized on a sponsors banner at every home game, receive logo recognition in the game day program, public address announcements during the game and the chance to throw out the first pitch at one game. The business will also be given five invitations to Sponsor Appreciation Day May 22. The cost of this package is $300.
The World Series package is also targeted towards businesses. It features all of the amenities that the Grand Slam package offers, but it also includes one permanent 4 x 8 outfield sign to be displayed at Redbird Field. The cost of this package is $1,000.
