Samantha Richdale and the Illinois State womens golf team had a solid third round in the Lady Moc Classic to finish in a sixth place tie, with a three round total 971 (330,322,319) Tuesday at Cleveland Heights Country Club.
Richdale moved up one spot on the individual leaderboard to tie for 14th place with a third round tally of 79 and a 54-hole total of 235 (82,74,79). Junior Ashlee Johnson had the best third round of Redbird golfers with a 78, while sophomore Ashlie Rose carded an 80 and finished in a tie for 23rd place at 240 (79,81,80). Sarah Loomis and Kalia Fuller rounded out the third round Illinois State scoring with an 82 and 84 respectfully.
Johnsons three round total of 246 (84,84,78) was good for a 43rd place tie individually, while fellow juniors Loomis and Fuller concluded the Classic in 63rd and 83rd place.
Rollins College took home the top team honor, carding a 54-hole total of 911 (306,298,307) to finish 30 strokes better than second place Florida International 941 (311,316,314). The host Florida Southern Mocs tied for third place with Florida Atlantic, both shooting 943, while Middle Tennessee State rounded out the top five with 948.
Pamela Feggans of Florida Southern was the individual medalist finishing at 221 (72,78,71). Second round leader Freddie Seeholzer of champion Rollins College finished four strokes off the individual lead at 225 (75,73,77).
The Birds return to action March 12-14 in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands at the St. Croix Collegiate Classic hosted by Xavier University.
