The Illinois State swimming and diving team held its annual team banquet Sunday morning at the Radisson in Bloomington. Several student-athletes were honored with awards and captains for the teams 2004-2005 campaign were officially announced.
Julie Cocks received the Most Valuable Swimmer award, while Krystal Featherston took home Most Valuable Diver honors. Scholastic awards were presented to Jenny Klicka, who earned a 4.0 GPA in her first semester as a Redbird, and also to Chelsea Sanders and Julie Schultz, who will each earn their undergraduate degree in three years when they graduate in May.
Brittany Armstrong, Jamie Haseman and Emily Hirt were honored with Most Improved awards for their efforts in the water throughout the season, and Stefanie Starck was recognized with the Spirit Award for her contagious Redbird pride. Newcomer of the Year honors went to Kyle Pullman and Emily Hirt received the Rebecca Wade award.

Steve Paska concluded the banquet by announcing Katie Finan, Alison Kouba and Monique Witkowski as the Redbird squad captains in next years swimming and divng campaign.
