Mens Basketball Supports Charity Event

The William F. Brady Day of the Dozer is a special charity event for Illinois State mens basketball coach Porter Moser, considering that he is the son of a land developer. But it is also an event that raises money for cancer research and a chance for Moser and the Redbirds to lend a helping hand in the community. The team will volunteer their time on Saturday at the Interstate Center in Bloomington where the Day of the Dozer event takes place. The event allows kids and their families to see and ride heavy construction equipment such as dump trucks, earthmovers and bulldozers. All proceeds for the event go to benefit the Community Cancer Center and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, McLean County Affiliate. The mens basketball program has also been an active member of many other campus and community activities such as Festival ISU and Corn Fest. Moser believes that it is important to always be giving back to those that support the program. Since Ive been here, its been very important to me to give back to the community, Moser said. Day of the Dozer is such a great event that supports a great cause. Our guys will be out there interacting with the kids and their families. Im glad our guys are out there interacting with people and being part of this community, Moser continued. Thats very important to me. The Redbirds will open the regular season on Nov. 14 against Penn State in Milwaukee, Wis., at the Bradley Center with the Black Coaches Association (BCA) Classic.
