Illinois State-Minnesota Kick-off Time Changed

Illinois States football game at Minnesota on Sept. 11 in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome will be moved to a 2:30 p.m. kickoff to accommodate an ESPN Regional Television broadcast which will also air on Fox Sports Net (FSN) North. The game was originally scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. In addition to being televised, the Redbird-Golden Gopher game will also feature the Big Ten Conferences experimental instant replay system. Head coach Denver Johnson is looking forward to coaching with the experimental rule. Im kind of excited about being involved in a game experimenting with the instant replay rule, Johnson said. It could add a new element to the game and Ill be looking to the officiating crew before the game to help me with the process. But, its going to be interesting to be a part of, especially if it comes into play. The NCAA Football Rules Committee granted the Big Ten the right to experiment with instant replay on a one-year basis for all televised games at League stadiums in 2004. While all 44 Big Ten games will utilize this system, visiting teams during non-conference contests must approve the usage of instant replay.
