Coming off a first place finish at last weekends Redbird Classic, Katie Laehn has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week.
This is Laehns first time receiving golfer of the week. She joins teammates Samantha Richdale, Hilary Anderson and Ashlee Johnson, all pervious winners.
Laehn finished the three-round tournament with 75,72,73 with a total of 220. She claimed first place by five strokes over her teammate Chelsea Bach, leading the Birds to a 41-stroke victory over second place Bradley (940). Other Valley opponents included Northern Iowa (944), Southern Illinois (948) and Creighton (978).
Laehn and the Redbirds travel to East Lansing, Mich. on Sept. 17-18, to compete at the Mary Fossum Invitational hosted by Michigan State University.
