After a second place finish at the Mary Fossum Invitational, Illinois State Senior Katie Laehn has been named co-Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive time.
Laehn received the award last week, after her first place finish at the Redbird Classic. This week she shares this award with Southwest Missouri States Sally Hinton, who placed second at the Chip-n-Club Invitational.
Laehn finished the three-round tournament with 74,74,78 for a total of 226, leaving her in a tie for second place. Her second place finish helped lead the Redbirds to a fifth place team finish behind Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern and Wisconsin.
Laehn and the Redbirds have a few weeks to practice before they return to action on Oct. 4-5, traveling to Franklin, Ind. to complete in the Shootout at the Legends.
