Redbird Womens Tennis Continues Winning Ways at Tulsa Invite

Katri Miller lead the way for the Illinois State womens tennis team once again in day two of the 12th Annual Hurricane Invitational. Miller defeated Christina Skoda of Kansas, 6-7, 7-5, 6-4 in singles action of the mock-dual event. Laura Gravino also found singles success in a 6-1, 6-2 win over Kansas Ashley Filberth, while Ashley Maxwell came back from an 0-6 first set to defeat Luiza Loureiro of Kansas, 0-6, 6-4, 7-5. Emilie Sechaud rounded out the singles winners for the Birds in her 6-3, 6-4 win over Lillian Bou-Kheir of Oklahoma State. Carolyne Parent lost a tough match to Lauren Hommell of Kansas in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, while Veroniqu Park-Bedard also dropped a match in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, to Stephanie Smith of Kansas. Doubles action saw the duo of Maxwell and Park-Bedard defeat Southwest Missouri States Maja Stanojevic and Biljana Gakovic 6-4, 7-5. The Birds return to the court for the third and final day of the invite with a 9 a.m. start Sunday morning at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Singles Katri Miller (ISU) def.
