Redbird Tennis Teams to Hold Kids Day

Young tennis players can meet their favorite Illinois State University tennis players and Reggie Redbird at ISU Tennis Kids Day on Sunday, September 12, at McCormick Courts on the ISU campus. From 4 to 7 p.m., ISU coaches, players and Reggie will be in attendance to teach several core tennis skills to all who attend. The event is free and open to youngsters ages 5-17. The event is sponsored by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and participants must bring their own racquets. In addition to receiving an opportunity to meet the coaches and players, all kids in attendance will receive a free t-shirt and be treated to pizza and snacks. Mens head coach Greg Kennett believes this is great for the kids and for the game of tennis. This is a perfect opportunity to spread the game of tennis to the youth of the community, he said. The kids will get to learn about the game from Division 1 athletes and coaches and the best part is its all free.
