Redbirds Prepare for Dual-Meet Against UIC Flames

The Redbird swimming and diving team have returned from California and are preparing to battle Illinois-Chicago in a dual meet hosted by the Birds on Jan. 14 at 5 p.m. The Redbirds have consecutively faced the Flames every season for the past 20 years. Head swimming and diving coach Steve Paska feels this is a great way to start the Redbird semester. Every year that we have swam against UIC we have had very competitive meets, said Paska. In my opinion they now have the best swimming team they have had in Chicago for quite some time. This will be a very competitive dual-meet against the Birds and the Flames. Head diving coach Carly Weiden is looking forward to seeing how the divers do back in their home pool since returning from California. The athletes really shined through in California, said Weiden. I am excited to see how much they have improved since their last dual-meet and to really see the athletes perform back in their home pool. The dual-meet will be held in the Redbird Horton Pool with free admission. ###
