Jenny Klicka placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:42.29) while also taking first in the 200-yard freestyle event (1:58.76).
Head swimming and diving coach
Steve Paska noticed a lot of positive things happen at this meet.
The team made strides in the right direction, said Paska. We definitely rebounded from California. Now we need to stay focused and maintain intensity in the pool. I will challenge these ladies both in the pool and the weight room to keep them healthy for our next invitational in Milwaukee.
On the diving side, Krystal Featherston placed first on the one-meter (261.08) and three meter boards (271.05). Senior Terra Whisman followed close behind taking a score of (260.10) on the one-meter board and a score of (267.00) on the three-meter board.
Head diving coach Carly Weiden feels the athletes had a tremendous meet.
Terra missed qualifying for regionals by only five points on the one-meter board and three points on the three-meter board, said Weiden. I was very impressed with the way the divers dove tonight.
The Redbirds travel to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to participate in the Bill Ritter Invitational held on Jan. 21-22. The diving portion begins at 10 am on Fri. Jan 21.
