Illinois State senior volleyball players Kelly Rikli, Amber Rogers and Paige White will be honored along with their teammates at the Redbird Volleyball Post-Season Banquet at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30 at The Chateau in Bloomington.
Coach Sharon Dingman and her staff will celebrate a 22-9 record and a second-place Missouri Valley Conference finish while honoring Rikli, Rogers and White as the head down the road to graduation as well as 10 players who will return for the 2005 season. After starting the season by winning the Barker GMC Classic at Redbird Arena, the Birds went 13-5 in Valley play and again finished among the national leaders in volleyball home attendance.
Academic and volleyball awards will be presented including the Kristin Kueltzo Inspiration Award, the Kelly Meisner Courage Award and the Linda Herman Most Valuable Player Award.
The banquet is open to the public and tickets are $25 each. For reservations, call Redbird Athletics at (309) 438-3803. The deadline for reservations is 5 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25.
