NORMAL, Ill. -
Illinois State basketball fans will have another opportunity to publicly view the 2005-06 edition of the Redbirds prior to their exhibition game against Augustana (S.D.), as head coach Porter Moser announced that the annual Red-White Scrimmage will take place on Nov. 1, at 7 p.m., in Redbird Arena.
Admission for the Red-White Scrimmage is free. The game will be officiated and is scheduled to be 40-minutes in length, depending on roster depth.
"We have a lot of guys that haven't played in a game-like situation together, and the more game-like situations you can have the better," Moser said. "Also in a scrimmage you have 10 Illinois State players on the floor at one time, as opposed to five players in an exhibition. So we are going to get a lot more minutes played when we go against each other.
"It will be good for our guys to get some nervousness and rust out playing in front of people, and hopefully we (as a coaching staff) can see a lot of things that we will be able to address before our first exhibition game."
The Redbirds open their season on Nov. 9 when they host Augustana (S.D.) for ISU's lone public exhibition. Tip-off is at 7:05 p.m.
