Robinson Named I-AA.org All-Star

Nov. 14, 2005

NORMAL, Ill. - As a result of Illinois State's Laurént Robinson's 14 catches for 292 yards and three touchdowns in the Redbirds' 70-28 dismantling of Indiana State last Saturday, the junior wide receiver became the third Redbird this season to be tabbed as a I-AA.org National I-AA Weekly All-Star.

Robinson's effort was the second best reception total in Division I this season and ranked as the second best day in Gateway Conference history. His 292 yards also established school and GFC records.

The Rockledge, Fla., native led the Redbirds to a 7-4 regular season mark as he finished the year with 86 catches for 1,465 yards. His 86 catches broke the ISU single-season record and tied the Gateway standard.

The GFC offensive player of the week, Robinson scored on 48 and 18 yard passes from quarterback Luke Drone in the first quarter and added a 49-yard TD on another Drone pass in the fourth period.
