Kristi Cirone, Resurrection High School guard and Illinois State recruit, made the Top 100 McDonalds All-American list of the top high school players in the United States.
Cirone, (pronounced sir-OH-nee) who signed with the Redbirds in November, 2004, is one of eight players from Illinois on the McDonalds Top 100 list. She led Resurrection to a 23-8 record in 2004-05 with 20.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 4.5 steals per game. Her teams were 85-32 in her four years as a varsity starter.
A three-time first-team Chicago Sun-Times All-Area selection, she is the Resurrection career leader in points with 2,300, assists with 414 and steals with 370. In her junior season, Cirone set the school record for single-game points with 43 and single-season points with 703.
Cirone was a first-team Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-Stater in 2004, along with first-team spots on Champaign News-Gazette and Chicago Sun-Times teams.
