Rubber-bracelet-mania has hit the Illinois State campus and fans at Saturdays Illinois State-Bradley mens basketball game will have the first chance to purchase the red Go You Redbirds! bracelets.
The bracelets are $2 apiece and all the proceeds will go toward the purchase of new equipment for the 9,200 square-foot Owen Strength and Conditioning Center, which is scheduled to be completed in mid-March.
Lance Armstrong started this fashion trend with his live strong motto and that is what the Owen Strength and Conditioning Center is going to provide for our student-athletes, said interim director of athletics Linda Herman. It is a wonderful opportunity for the Illinois State University staff, student-athletes, donors and fans to all play a part in this wonderful facility.
The bracelets will be available at The Taste of Redbird Country, which begins at 1:30 p.m., in Horton Field House prior to the game. During the game, bracelets can be purchased at the Alamo II merchandise stand located behind section G. They will also be available at all remaining home mens basketball games and at the Alamo II.
Tip-off for the Interstate-74 rivalry game is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
