Senior diver Krystal Featherston will travel to Purdue for the NCAA Regional Zone Diving Championships on Friday March 11 to represent Illinois State at the Boiler Aquatic Center.
The Kokomo, Ind. native qualified for regionals on both boards against the Northern Iowa Panthers last November. Featherston placed first on one-meter and qualified by an eighth of a point landing her at 265.80. She then wrapped up the meet placing first on three-meter with 288.61.
Head diving coach Carly Weiden is anxious to see how Featherston will standup to the competition.
I have set high expectations for Krystal, Weiden said. This is her last chance to come out on top before she graduates. I hope for it to be a great ending to the spectacular past four years she has had on the board.
One-meter diving will take place on Friday beginning at 11 am while three-meter will follow on Saturday slated to begin at 11 am.
