The Illinois State womens tennis team opens conference play when Bradley visits the McCormick Courts Wednesday at 3 p.m., the match also marks the first outdoor home competition for the Birds. Head coach Chris Hoover is excited to get the conference season underway.
Were ready to get going, said Hoover. Were excited to start the conference season, and get outside on our home courts.
The Redbirds recorded a 7-6 record in the non-conference portion of the season, and enter the conference season as the pre-season pick to win the conference title. Hoover is hopeful the Birds can start off the conference season with a win.
The match with Bradley is our opportunity to start off the conference season right, said Hoover. We need to get some momentum going early on that will hopefully help carry us through to the end of the season.
