Eight members of the swimming and diving team were honored at the annual swimming and diving banquet held Sunday, April 17 at the Radisson Hotel.
Krystal Featherston completed her collegiate career by picking up her third straight Most Valuable Diver award. Featherstons teammate Katie Finan was honored as the Most Valuable Swimmer.
Keeping the enthusiasm alive for the Redbirds was Monique Witkowski, who was honored for her efforts with the Spirit Award. Brittany Armstrong received her second straight Most Improved honor, along with Emily Richardson. Tracy Deyell was honored with the Newcomer award for her steller performances in the pool this year.
Alison Kouba was honored as the recipient of the Rebecca Wade Award, an award presented in honor of the former Redbird swimmer who died of cancer in 1999. The Wade Award is presented to a member of the team who exemplifies perseverance and dedication to the sport of swimming as well as to the team.
Four scholastic achievement honorees were recognized for thier academic performance including Deyell, Jenny Klicka, Finan, and Armstrong. All four Redbirds maintained a 4.0 GPA.
