Slots for about 10 foursomes are still available in the 2005 Chevys Redbird Golf Classic June 10 at the Illinois State University Golf Course.
The field includes Redbird coaches and staff, members of The Redbird Club, alumni and friends. During the golf scramble, WJBCs Jim Williams and Beth Whisman will be broadcasting the Williams and Whisman Show live from the ISU Golf Course, with Chevys Redbird Golf Classic participants among their guests.
ISU Assistant Athletics Director Todd Reeser sees the classic as a fun event.
Its an opportunity to have a great day on the ISU Golf Course for a lot of people who are important to Redbird athletics, said Reeser. Every year, we enjoy having new people join us to get a good feeling for how much fun it is to be part of Redbird athletics.
Proceeds for the event go to student-athlete scholarships at Illinois State and fees are $125 per player or $500 per team. Some hole sponsorships also are available for $150 each. A foursome and hole sponsorship combination is $600. Playing spots include golf, cart, lunch, dinner and prizes. Additional dinner-only reservations are available for $10 per person.
Registration is at 11:30 a.m., with a noon lunch and a 1 p.m. shotgun start for the golf scramble. The traditional Chevys dinner, raffle and prizes start at 6:30 p.m.
Deadline for reservations is 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 7. For reservations, call The Redbird Club Office at (309) 438-3803.
