Philadelphia, Pa. -
For three seasons, Illinois State senior Stafford Davis has served as the Redbirds' anchor on the offensive line and apparently the national media is beginning to take notice. With preseason all-America accolades already in the bag, Davis was tabbed as the No. 2 ranked offensive guard in I-AA football by The Sports Network.
Rated only behind Georgia Southern's Chad Motte, Davis enters his fourth season as a starter on the ISU front. The 6-foot-2, 302-pound Davis has started all 34 games of his college career at left guard.
The native of Orange Park, Fla., led the team with 140 knockdowns in 2004, including two games with over 20 knockdowns in each. He also only had three missed assignments all season.
