Featherston Finishes Career at NCAA Regionals

March 12, 2005

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Krystal Featherston completed her illustrious diving career at Illinois State in the one-meter prelims at the NCAA Regional Zone C Diving Meet in West Lafayette, Ind. on Saturday.

One day after finishing 14th on the three-meter board, Featherston placed 35th on the one-meter with 181.15 points. The senior from Kokomo, Ind. tallied 434.75 points on the three-meter Friday.

"We were pretty happy with how Krystal did yesterday, but today wasn't her best meet," ISU head diving coach Carly Weiden said. "After doing so well yesterday, the pressure was off a little bit and she may have been a little too relaxed. Despite of how she did today, Krystal has done a lot of wonderful and spectacular things in her career. I'm so glad and excited that I got to spend the last two years working with her."

Featherston earned Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Year honors the past three seasons, finishing first on the both the one-meter and three-meter boards from 2003-05. Featherston was named Valley Diver of the Week seven times during her senior season.
