Redbird Soccer to Hold Scrimmage and Clinic

July 28, 2005

NORMAL, Ill. - After hosting two successful camps earlier this summer, the Illinois State women's soccer team is holding a developmental clinic for boys and girls in the eighth grade or younger. This clinic is being offered in conjunction with the Redbirds preseason scrimmage on Saturday, August 20.

With the $10 registration fee, clinic participants will be able to watch the `Birds play an inter-squad scrimmage at Adelaide Street Field at 12 p.m. before they receive instruction from the Illinois State soccer staff and team.

The purpose of the clinic is to develop the fundamental skills necessary to be a successful soccer player. No previous soccer experience is necessary for participants and all players will be grouped according to their age and ability.

For more information on the Redbird Developmental Soccer Clinic or the Illinois State women's soccer team, visit the camp link at www.goredbirds.com or contact Redbird assistant coach Stacy Welp at (309) 438-7042.
