Naperville Tip-Off Event to be Held at Jimmy's Grill

Oct. 16, 2006

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State Athletics Department and WBIG radio (1280 AM) will be hosting a Redbird basketball tip-off event on Oct. 26, from 7-9 p.m., at Jimmy's Grill (245 S. Washington Street) in Naperville, Ill.

All Illinois State alumni and fans are encouraged to attend this free event to gear up for the upcoming 2006-07 season. Porter Moser and the ISU men's basketball team are preparing for another exciting season. In addition to the return of senior forward Greg Dilligard, the Redbirds bring in one of the best recruiting classes in the school's history, with two junior college all-Americans in Keith "Boo" Richardson and Dominitrix Johnson.

On the women's side, head coach Robin Pingeton welcomes back 11 of last season's 13 letterwinners, including Kristi Cirone, the 2005-06 Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year. Pingeton's 2006-07 recruiting class features four players from the state of Illinois, including two from the Chicago metropolitan area (Kenyatta Shelton and Ashleen Bracey).

Both Pingeton and Moser, along with ISU Director of Athletics Dr. Sheahon Zenger, will be in attendance, while WBIG will be hosting a live version of "The BIG Sports Report." Finger foods, giveaways and door prizes will also be available.
