Illinois State University President Dr. Al Bowman and Director of Athletics Dr. Sheahon Zenger will be co-hosting a free tailgate party outside the southeast corner of O'Brien Stadium in Charleston, Ill., on Saturday, for the NCAA Division I Football Championship first round game between the Redbirds and Eastern Illinois.
The tailgate includes lunch and will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition, the ISU Athletics Department will be offering a fan bus trip to the game. The price of the trip is $25 per person, which includes travel and admission to the game. To register for the bus trip, fans must do so on-line at http://www.alumni.ilstu.edu/football. The deadline to register is Wednesday.
Due to the 2006 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Championship being played at Redbird Arena, the buses will depart at 9 a.m. from lot G-73, which is the parking lot between Hancock Stadium and Main Street. The buses will arrive in Charleston in time to attend the free tailgate.
If fans are just interested in a game ticket, those are available at the Redbird Arena Ticket Office for $12 per person and can be ordered by calling 309/438-8000.
