NORMAL, Ill. -
The Illinois State athletics department is proud to recognize 14 student-athletes who completed their undergraduate education at the end of the 2006 Fall Term. The graduates represent eight different Redbird sports including three each from the football and softball teams, two from both men's and women's track and field and one a piece from baseball, gymnastics, volleyball and swimming and diving.
"This time of year we are often too busy with the holidays and don't always give the attention deserved for our mid-year Redbird graduates," Director of Athletics Dr. Sheahon Zenger said. "Graduation is our goal and that of our student-athletes, so achieving it is worth celebrating. We are very proud of our newest Redbird graduates."
The group of Redbird graduates includes 2004 and 2005 first team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection Laura Doornbos, who ranks No. 1 in career points, 2006 All-Gateway Football Conference Honorable Mention James Temple, who was third on the team in interceptions with three, 2006 All-Valley honoree in the one mile run Betsy McDonald and first team all-conference outfielder Randi Patton.
