The Redbird gymnastics team under the directories of head coach, Bob Conkling, will host a girls gymnastics summer camp from June 11-14, in the South Gym of Horton Field House on the campus of Illinois State University. The two different offerings for the campers are $360 for those staying over night or $260 for commuter campers.
This camp will expose young athletes to the sport of gymnastics, further develop skills and techniques of proper progression and learn new elements while having fun. All levels are welcomed.
Many of the collegiate gymnasts assisting with the camp have competed at the National level before coming to Illinois State and Conkling brings over 20 years of coaching experience to this camp.
"It will be nice to do some of the same coaching that I've done in the past," said Conkling. "Working with younger kids and developing their skills at the compulsory and optional level is what I did before I entered college level coaching. The Redbird gymnasts are also really excited about being able to share their knowledge and inspiring gymnasts."
