SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - For the second straight weekend, inclement weather has wreaked havoc on Illinois State's Missouri Valley Conference softball series. The Redbirds' doubleheader against Missouri State in Springfield, Mo. has been rained out, and the teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow (Sunday) beginning at 11 a.m.
Now that ISU's series this weekend is just two games rather than three, the `Birds must win both contest in order to win the Valley regular season crown and the No. 1 seed in next week's State Farm MVC Tournament in Omaha, Neb. With the Redbirds will only be able to play two more conference games, they have already locked up the No. 2 seed in the tournament.
