Bird Blitz with Greg Dilligard

July 28, 2006

- GR: What is the best lesson you have learned from Coach Moser?
GD: Basically to fight through adversity

GR: If you weren't playing basketball, what sport would you be playing?
GD: Football. I played a little bit in high school but not much because I was so busy with basketball.

GR: What do you think the biggest difference is between high school and college basketball?
GD: The physical aspect

GR: What do you feel has been your proudest moment in your entire basketball career?
GD: Some of the awards I have received over the years. All of them have been accomplishments for me.

GR: What personal goals do you have for yourself for the upcoming season?
GD: To improve on my game from last year and try to make it better this year.

GR: If you were given the opportunity to switch places with Coach Moser and coach him for a day, what would be the first thing you would make him do?
GD: Some of the drills we do in practice. I would start the drills for him at 5:45 in the morning.

GR: Pub II cheesballs or Gumby's Pokey Stix?
GD: Pub II cheeseballs

GR: Who has been a role model for you throughout your life?
GD: My brother, Marcus

GR: Do you have a favorite quote or song lyric?
GD: Not really. I have too many to pick one favorite.

GR: I understand your brother Marcus plays basketball in Brazil. Who would win in a one-on-one game between the two of you?
GD: There is actually a chance he will be going to Spain to play next month. In a one-on-one game, I would win.

GR: Who do you vote for in the annual `braggin rights' game between Illinois and Missouri?
GD: Man, that's tough. Um, I'd have to go with Missouri.

I know the basketball team participates in a lot of community service. What is your favorite service to participate in?
GD: Working with little kids. I LOVE little kids.

You said you saw the interview with Women's basketball player, Sara Stevenson, on GoRedbirds.com. One of the questions posed to her was "If you were to ever date any one player on the ISU men's basketball team, who would it be?" Her response happened to be Greg Dilligard. So my question to you is, would she be your pick of someone to date off of the Women's basketball team?
GD: Sara is cool. I can see that, but not since I have a girlfriend. That would get me in trouble.
