Johnson Hosts Tacklin' Football II for Ladies Only

Aug. 18, 2006

NORMAL, Ill. - For the second straight year, Illinois State head football coach Denver Johnson and WJBC radio personality Jayme Monacelli will host a ladies only football clinic at the Kaufman Football Building on Monday, Aug. 21, from 6-9 p.m.

The "Tacklin' Football II" clinic is completely free and open to any female interested in learning more about the game of football. However, due to space limitations, there will only be an enrollment of 125, so register with the football office by calling 309/438-8671 to reserve a spot today.

"This is a nice outreach program we have with the ladies in the community who would like to know a little more about football," Johnson said. "It's a fun, education program so that they can enjoy the game more with their husbands or friends, or they might watch their children play. A lot of times, we'll have single moms who have a son in junior high or high school and they want to be involved (in their son's life). We try to meet their needs and gauge what their interest is. It's a fun event."
