NORMAL, Ill. -- Coming off highly successful matches at last weekend's Campus USA Credit Union Classic, Redbird volleyball freshmen Mary McGinnis and Kasey Mollerus will be the player guests on Tuesday's Sharon Dingman Show. The show, which will be hosted by Tom Lamonica, will begin at 6 p.m. at Cheek's Bar and Grill in Bloomington, and can be heard on both WJBC and GoRedbirds.com.
McGinnis played a huge roll in helping the Redbirds overcome a two-game deficit against the Rattlers on Friday. The Fraser, Mich. native had her best effort of the season, registering five kills and nine digs while appearing in four of the five games.
Mollerus was named to the All-Tournament team after averaging 5.75 digs-per-game in the two matches. Against the Rattlers, Mollerus had 30 digs (her second 30-plus dig outing of the season) and a .912 reception percentage, being served to 31 times. Against host Florida, she recorded 16 kills (5.33 dpg) with a .964 reception percentage.
The Redbird volleyball team (4-5) will return to action this weekend as they open Missouri Valley Conference action at Redbird Arena with matches against Wichita State (Sep. 16) and Missouri State (Sep. 17).
