"Hometown Team Youth Pass" Promotion Kicks off Saturday

Sept. 14, 2006

NORMAL, Ill. -- The Illinois State athletics department is proud to once again offer the "Hometown Team Youth Pass," which will allow local elementary school students to attend Redbird competitions free of charge beginning with this Saturday's football game versus Eastern Illinois. The state's oldest rivalry is slated to kick-off at 6:30 p.m. at Hancock Stadium.

The EIU football game will be the first of many chances throughout the year for students to gain entrance to ISU events. The Youth Pass will also provide admission to Sunday's volleyball contest at Redbird Arena against Missouri State and the home soccer match versus Saint Louis on Fri., Sept. 22.

In conjunction with the pass, all kids wearing a jersey will be admitted to Saturday's game free of charge.

The Youth Pass is open to all elementary schools in the Bloomington-Normal community and surrounding areas. Schools need to register with Redbird Athletics so students can receive one ticket/coupon for general admission or an upper bowl seat to selected ISU events throughout the year.

Besides the ability to attend events, the Youth Pass will allow schools the chance to request Illinois State players and coaches to visit their children. Participating schools can also schedule Reggie the Redbird and ISU cheerleaders to stop in and Spread The Red to their students.
