Siskowic Earns Another National Honor

Sept. 21, 2006

NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State's Cameron Siskowic added another accolade on Thursday after Don Hansen's Football Gazette named the senior linebacker one of the publication's National Players of the Week.

Siskowic, who finished with 22 tackles against No. 18 Eastern Illinois last week, was one of four defensive players named to the list. The Redbird tackle leader during the last two seasons joined Murray State's Daerrick Parrott, Stephen F. Austin's Damian Perkins and Northern Arizona's Jeff Wheeler.

ISU's 2006 Buck Buchanan Award candidate added a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry to his career-best tackle total. In addition, with his 22 tackles, Siskowic notched the most stops by a Redbird since 2003. He now has 45 tackles on the season, which not only leads the Gateway, but all of I-AA football.
