NORMAL, Ill. -
For a third weekend in a row, the Illinois State men's tennis team will hit the road as they continue their fall season. The Redbirds will travel to St. Louis, Mo. for a pre-season match up against the Saint Louis Billikens. The match is set to start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sep. 30 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park, Mo.
ISU and SLU will be competing in eight singles and four doubles matches in the morning. In the afternoon session, the teams will change their lineups and play another round of eight singles and four doubles.
"We are still working on some aspects of our game," said head coach Greg Kennett. "This match will let us switch the lineup around and see where we stand and what we need to continue to work on."
This match is the last competition for the `Birds before heading to the ITA Regional Tournament in Tulsa, Okla. in October.
"The idea of this match is to go get some good practice in before the ITA Regional Tournament," said Kennett. "The ITA tournament is the most important competition that we play in the fall."
