Miller and Parke-Bedard Prepare For the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championship

NORMAL, Ill. - Senior Katri Miller and senior Véronique Parke-Bédard will head North to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Thursday, Oct 18., for the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships. The tournament will conclude the fall season for Illinois State University's women's tennis team.

Qualifications for the regional will begin on Thursday at the University of Michigan. Miller was placed in the Main Draw and will be able to bypass the qualification round. This season Miller has a singles record of 8-5, and a career singles record of 68-51, entering into this tournament.

"Katri has really been playing well at the right times, and right now she is really putting out her best game," said head coach Chris Hoover.

Parke-Bédard has a singles record of 7-3 this season and a career record of 69-3. She will be participating in the qualification round on Thursday.

Together Miller and Parke-Bédard will team up to compete in the doubles main draw, which begins on Friday, Oct. 19. They have 6-4 record this season and a 24-13 mark since 2006.

"Im excited for the girls to get out there and play against the best in the region," said Hoover. "It should be a great tournament."

The first match is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, with the tournament concluding on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
