ANN ARBOR, Mich. -
The Redbirds came up short of a win in the second day of the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships, on Friday, Oct. 19. Senior Véronique Parke-Bédard and senior Katri Miller partnered up for the Doubles Draw, which included 64 teams.
Parke-Bedard and Miller faced off against duo Kali Krisik and Colleen Rielley (UND) and were bested, 8-4. Krisik and Rielley were ranked ninth in the competition.
"We have been playing well all fall, and this weekend we just lost it," said head coach Chris Hoover. "It's a little disappointing, but we still have Miller in the competition tomorrow."
The Redbirds are now out of the Doubles Draw and only have one player in the Singles Draw, Miller.
In Saturday's competition Miller will face Stephanie Kebler (MSU), in the first round of the Singles Draw.
The first singles match is set to begin on Saturday afternoon, with the entire tournament concluding on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
