Redbirds Take Eighth at Ross Resorts Invitational

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - The Illinois State women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with an eighth place finish at the Ross Resorts Invitational at Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C. The Redbirds recorded a team total of 963 (329, 317, 317) and were led by sophomore Stacey Miller who tied for 10th following a three-round-total of 233 (78, 77, 78).

Sophomore Britt Knutson also made noise on the final day of action as she recorded a final round 76 en route to a three-round-total of 241 (84, 81, 76), leaving her tied for 32nd place.

Rollins College won the 15-team event with a three-round-team-total of 916 (308, 305, 303) and finished eight strokes ahead of second place Augusta State 924 (309, 308, 307). Joanna Coe of Rollins College claimed the individual title as she recorded a three-round-total of 224 (75, 76, 73).

Illinois State returns to action Feb. 6-7 at the Fighting Camel Spring Classic, hosted by Campbell at Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, N.C.
