Illinois State will need its third second-half comeback of the season to claim third place in the 2007 Chicago Invitational Challenge at the Sears Centre, as the Redbirds trail Kent State 33-24, at halftime Saturday.
Sophomore Osiris Eldridge leads the Redbirds in scoring with five points, but all five points came in the final 1:45 of the half. The two teams traded baskets for the first 14 minutes, as the game saw 10 lead changes. The Golden Flashes took control of the half with a 10-0 run to take a 28-18 lead at the 2:51 mark.
Boo Richardson sank the second of his two free throw attempts at the 2:27 mark to end ISU's nearly four-minute scoreless streak and Kent State's run.
