With the Illinois State softball team set to begin its 2008 season in 66 days, Redbird softball head coach Melinda Fischer announced a change to the team's upcoming schedule Wednesday. Illinois State's late-March game against 2007 Women's College World Series participant DePaul, originally scheduled for 3 p.m. March 26 in Chicago, has been moved to 2 p.m. March 25, with the single seven-inning game still slated to be played at Cacciatore Stadium on the DePaul campus in Chicago.

Illinois State finished its 2007 season with a 44-17-1 record and made its second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament as an at-large selection.
The Redbirds are set to open their 2008 season against Central Arkansas Feb. 8 at the Central Florida Tournament in Orlando. ISU will face 10 teams in 2008 that competed in the 2007 NCAA Tournament. The Redbirds return 11 players from a squad that set school records in slugging percentage (.509), runs scored (329), hits (489), home runs (83), runs batted in (308) and total bases (839) last season.
