Holloway Joins Redbird Men's Basketball for 2007-08

April 26, 2007

NORMAL, Ill. - Emmanuel Holloway, a former player at Iowa Western Junior College, signed a national letter of intent to continue his education and basketball career at Illinois State Thursday. Holloway, a 6-2 guard, will be a junior and have two years of eligibility remaining heading into the 2007-08 campaign.

Illinois State head coach Tim Jankovich was pleased with his recent addition to the ISU roster.

"We are very excited that Emmanuel has chosen to join our program," said Jankovich. "He is a talented player, a very good student and a great person. He should be a valuable addition to our university."

Holloway appeared in 34 games last season, leading IWJC to a 27-7 record while collecting second-team all-region honors. He averaged a team-best 15.2 points per game to go along with 3.7 rebounds per contest. Holloway's 75 steals also led the team. He recorded a 39 percent three-point field goal percentage, and converted 74 percent of his free throw attempts.

"Illinois State was the right fit for me for a variety of reasons," Holloway said. "It has a storied tradition and great facilities and the coaching staff has a great vision."

Holloway, who played for IWJC head coach Jim Morris, was also recruited by Houston, Arkansas, Colorado State and Miami (Fla).
