GoRedbirds.com: Who is going to be the biggest surprise this season on offense?
Jonathan St-Pierre: Besides me, I think it is going to be whoever steps up at the running back position. We have a group of very talented running backs, so I think whoever steps up in that group will be a star for our team this year.
GR: How about defense?
JSP: Defense is going to interesting, now that some guys are gone. I think a star will emerge from either the linebacker position or defensive tackle position.
GR: Favorite hockey team?
JSP: The Montreal Canadiens ... come on!
GR: What is your dream meal consist of?
JSP: That is a tough question, but I will have to say poutine (french fries, cheese and gravy).
GR: What is on your iPod right now?
JSP: I'm really into the 70s stuff. I listen to Genesis, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
GR: The CFL or the NFL?
JSP: The NFL
GR: Choosing between two famous Canadians, Pamela Anderson or Shania Twain?
JSP: That is a hard one too ... I will go with Pamela.
GR: How are summer workouts going?
JSP: Things are going good. I'm losing weight and I'm getting in better shape. I'm just taking advantage of it.
GR: How many other football players are in town over the summer and how will that benefit?
JSP: I think we have 92 of the 95 players here right now and that includes the freshmen and other recruits coming in. A commitment like this from the guys will reflect on the field and hopefully the results will come as well.
GR: Kids in the Hall or Saturday Night Live?
JSP: I watch a little SNL. I would say Saturday Night Live.
GR: If you didn't play football, what sport would you play?
JSP: I tried hockey - it didn't work. I tried soccer - it didn't work. I'd be in pretty bad shape for anything else right now, so I would probably play badminton or something.
GR: Away from the game, what do you enjoy doing?
JSP: I like to play video games, like everyone else my age. I enjoy games with contact.
GR: What exactly is a Canuck?
JSP: I wish I knew, but I don't know exactly where it came from. There is the Vancouver Canucks and I think there was some bobsled team in one of the Olympics that was called the "Crazy Canucks."

GR: Miles or kilometers?
JSP: Kilometers
GR: You will be working with your fourth O-Line coach in three years. What are you looking forward to in working with coach Rod Carey?
JSP: Working with that many coaches in a short amount a time is tough to adjust, but I have also been exposed to different approaches and different points of view. I think those are all good things and will help make me into a complete player.
GR: Other than family, what do you miss the most about being in the states?
JSP: Now I don't miss the snow anymore (after transferring to Illinois State from Miami [Fla.]). I miss water parks. That sounds weird, but in Canada there are a lot of water parks and in the winter they are transformed into winter parks. They are a lot of fun and I miss that.
