MONTREAL, Canada -
Kevin Glenn, a former Illinois State quarterback, led Winnipeg to a come-from-behind 20-18 win over Montreal at Molson Stadium in Canadian Football League action Thursday night.
Glenn spurred the Bombers to a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns, which improved their season record to 2-1-1. He finished with 258 yards passing, while only throwing three incomplete passes. Glenn completed 21 of his 24 pass attempts.
On the first play of the fourth quarter, Glenn connected with Terrence Edwards on a 41-yard touchdown play, which gave Winnipeg its first lead of the game at 13-12. Montreal stormed right down the field on the ensuing possession, but the Bombers came up big with a goal-line stand on their own 1-yard line with 9:27 remaining. Winnipeg took control of the game when Glenn led the Bombers on a 109-yard scoring drive to take a 20-12 lead. Montreal later scored a touchdown, but a failed two-point conversion secured the victory.
Winnipeg returns to action on July 27 when it hosts Hamilton. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Canad Inns Stadium.
