NORMAL, Ill. -
Curt Sivertsen, who spent the past two years as Illinois State's head volleyball manager, has been named the new men's and women's volleyball head coach at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri.
"Curt is ready to make this move to a head coaching position in college," said Illinois State head coach Sharon Dingman. "He has great enthusiasm for the game of volleyball and is the consummate professional. Curt has coached at many different levels, so this move makes perfect sense."
Prior to his stint at Illinois State, Sivertsen coached USA Volleyball in the Chicago metropolitan area for eight years with the Adversity Volleyball club. He also served four years as the varsity head coach at Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette, Missouri. At Adversity, Sivertsen was the head coach of the girls 16 elite team and was an assistant coach for the boys 18 elite squad that played in the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic National Championships.
Sivertsen graduated with his bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from Illinois State in May.
