The 2007-08 Illinois State women's basketball schedule is complete. The Missouri Valley Conference has announced the dates of all league games and the Redbirds' 29-game schedule includes 14 home games and two games that will be broadcast on FSN Midwest.
The Redbirds open conference play with two road games, at Evansville (Jan. 3) and Southern Illinois (Jan. 5). The conference home-opener follows when ISU hosts Northern Iowa (Jan. 10). After another road game at Bradley (Jan. 13), the `Birds return home to face Indiana State (Jan. 19).
Illinois State's game at Missouri State (Jan. 25) will be broadcast on FSN Midwest; the first of two televised Redbird games. ISU finishes up that weekend on the road against Wichita State (Jan. 27).
Seven of the Redbirds' final 11 games of the 2007-08 season will be at home, as they host Drake (Jan. 31), Creighton (Feb. 2), Bradley (Feb. 10), Wichita State (Feb. 21), Missouri State (Feb. 24), Southern Illinois (March 6) and Evansville (March 8). Road games at Northern Iowa (Feb. 7), Indiana State (Feb. 15), Creighton (Feb. 29) and Drake (March 2) round out the regular season. The game against Indiana State will also be broadcast on FSN Midwest.
The 2008 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament will have a new feel this season. For the first time, the tournament to crown the conference's champion and NCAA Tournament automatic qualifier will be held at a neutral site. The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo., is the site for this season's tournament, which will be held March 13-16, 2008.
