NORMAL, Ill. -
Illinois State's men's basketball team (15-6, 7-3 MVC) will play five of its final nine regular-season games at home, beginning with next Tuesday's (Feb. 5) marquee match-up against No. 16 Drake on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena. Fans will also have the opportunity to recognize ISU's most successful student athletes on AFNI Athletics Honor Roll Night, while also enjoying reduced ticket prices. Upper-bowl seats, in special sections, will be available for just $5.
The upper-bowl ticket special, which is being reduced from $8 to $5, is available for sale immediately, and will run through Monday (Feb. 4) at 5 p.m. After that time, all upper bowl tickets will be sold for the original price. The Redbird Athletic Ticket Office, located adjacent to the North Entrance of Redbird Arena, is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and can be reached via phone at (309) 438-8000.
A school-record 243 student-athletes were named to the AFNI honor roll last semester, with 144 females and 99 male athletes receiving the honor. The previous total of 215 was set following the fall 2006 semester. The fall 2007 honor roll members will be recognized at halftime of Tuesday's game.
The Bulldogs will likely represent the first nationally-ranked men's basketball opponent to visit Redbird Arena since the 2003-04 season, when the Redbirds dropped a one-point (56-55) decision to Valley foe Creighton on Jan. 7, 2004.
