GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior Stacey Miller shot a 3-over 74 and led the Illinois State women's golf team to a 12th-place finish after the first day of the UNC-Greensboro/Starmount Fall Classic at the Starmount Country Club Sunday. "We struggled out of the gate this morning, but really came back on the back-nine holes," said head coach Darby Sligh. "I believe we have some good things to carry over into tomorrow's round, despite today's team score. Also, Stacey Miller really came through for us today, which is what I hope to see the rest of the year."

Junior Britt Knutson and sophomore Terra Miller both shot a 9-over-par 80 to finish in a tie for 54th place. Rounding out the top-five for Illinois State was freshman Jackie Leonard, who shot a first-round score of 86.
